Equality Objectives
2026-2030
We are committed to “growing a vibrant community of exceptional people”, and equality, diversity and inclusion sit at the heart of this ambition.
As part of our statutory duties, we must publish both our equality information and our equality objectives, demonstrating how we intend to reduce or remove specific inequalities or disadvantages. This information is updated and reviewed annually.
The Public Sector Equality Duty plays an important role in supporting high-quality education and improving pupil outcomes. It enables us, as a Trust, to identify key priorities such as underperformance, limited progression, or bullying by requiring us to gather evidence, understand the issues affecting different groups of pupils, and take considered action. It also focuses our efforts on developing measurable equality objectives that directly address these challenges and drive improvement.
Full details of the requirements placed on schools are included in the Public Sector Equality Duty Guidance for Schools in England, published by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
Objective 1
Ensure every child, irrespective of protected characteristics, can meet the expected academic challenge across all lessons. Monitoring will include observations, student feedback and 5D Baccalaureate data.
Ensure staff and potential staff have equality of opportunity by developing our apprenticeship strategy and expanding CPD.

Objective 2
The 5 Dimensions Trust is committed to governance that actively advances equality, eliminates discrimination and reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We will strengthen the diversity of our boards by increasing representation from younger adults and under-represented racial and ethnic groups. Through inclusive recruitment, transparent appointment processes, and targeted outreach, we aim to build governing teams whose lived experiences, perspectives and backgrounds enhance decision-making, promote equity and improve outcomes for all pupils.
Lead: Board of Trustees and Clerk to the Board
Objective 3
To improve understanding and application of equality duties by delivering training and guidance on equality, diversity and inclusion for staff, trustees and governors.
To support leaders to use Equality Impact assessments in decision making.
